Many people are having difficulty staying current with their home mortgage and if they wait to long before doing something about this situation they could end up facing a Stopping Foreclosure situation. There is no need to let the problem reach this point when other options are available. The Government has made available several options for Stopping Foreclosure proceedings if a person is willing to take advantage of them. One is a home loan modification. How does a loan modification work? Basically this is an attempt by the home owner to convince the bank to "restructure" the terms of the home loan so they are more favorable to the homeowner. If the bank agrees to do this it is vital the home mortgage payments under the restructured mortgage are made on time or the loan modification will end up being a waste of time for the bank and the home owner. Another option is to write a convincing hardship letter to the bank. I will explain more about this option along with others in the next post.
