There are some ways, that I am learning, that you can go about stopping foreclosure and saving your home, according to some close friends and family that I have seen go through the process. My youngest brother, Andrew, for instance was able to go about successfully stopping foreclosure by applying for and getting approved for a loan modification. When I asked him how was approaching stopping foreclosure, he told me that he simply called the bank to discuss his options – they told him the last thing that they ever wanted to do was foreclose on the home; they were willing to try many different things to keep him in the home. He told me that once they did an income check and realized that he was in the bracket off folks that could qualify for a home modification, they sent him some paper work to fill out and return. He simply sent it back into them and they called him to approve the modification, essentially stopping foreclosure for good and resetting his payment to a lower one that he could afford!
